Abby Shahn Solon, ME Sinopia is proud to introduce our November 2011 Artist of the Month: Abbie Shahn.
Abby has enjoyed a long career in the arts through her studies at Art Schools all over the United States including San Francisco
and New York. She currently lives in rural Maine and exhibits and teaches on a regular basis. Abby does not like to limit
herself to one media of expression and is constantly fueling her creative process by infusing her creativity into a range
of art-making processes. Currently Abby works with egg tempera on paper and Sinopia is excited to share her latest series
of works. |

| Abby Shahn says of her current series:"I have returned to working in egg tempera on paper.
I love using the pure pigments again. The colors are so seductive, especially the blue pigments. Linseed oil darkens them and they lose their glow.
Using the pigments again reminds me of having a visit from some old friend who has been traveling for many years. We pick up the conversation where we last left off."
