In order to truly understand the pallet of the old masters an artist must work with the same pigments that were available to the artists of the time. This is a reconstruction of a pallet that Rembrandt might have worked with, in order to achieve deep backgrounds, dark shadows and vibrant highlights. This kit contains the following colors: Sap Green, Golden Yellow Ochre, Cobalt Blue, Cadmium Vermilion, Raw Sienna warm shade, Titanium Buff, Burnt Umber brownish and Burnt Umber very dark. Please note that all jars contain 50g of dry pigment and are filled by weight with the exception of the Veronese Green, which contains 10g and the Cobalt Blue and Cadmium Vermilion, which contain 25g. One of the colors is a cadmium. Cadmium is chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer.
