Corbett was born into a family of artists in 1974 in Greenwich, Connecticut and was raised in Detroit, Michigan.

He received an MFA in Painting from the Academy of Art in San Francisco in 2004. He has called the Bay Area home since then and has shown extensively in the Northern California region.

While Corbett has other interests such as white water slalom kayaking, his lifelong passion has always been painting.
Corbett says the following of his work: Painting is an adrenaline rush similar to skiing down mountains, kayaking rivers, andsurfing oceans. Kayaking off a waterfall or putting a brush to canvas creates butterflies ofexcitement. Each painting captures a moment in the outdoors, never to be repeated, butalways exhilarating and dynamic.

All of my canvases are hand stretched and every painting uses the highest qualitypigments, hand mixed to last for centuries. Applying bold marks of color expressivelyand with confidence, the paint moves while allowing each layer to reveal the painting'shistory. The layers of paint are aggressive yet sensitive the same way a river is intenselypowerful or deeply serene. The art is forged from memories of how incredibly fun life is!
