Questions and Answers
If you are not sure where to start, Sinopia can help with this Introductory Pigment Set. This kit includes 8 pigments in 50g jars. Use these pigments with any binder such as oil, acrylic, casein, gum arabic for watercolor, or even fresco lime for fresco painting. Choose the sturdy palette knife as a mixing blade. Please note that the colors in the pigment kit change from time to time to reflect the most popular colors. Currently the set includes: Titanium Buff, a Yellow Ochre, a Raw Sienna, a Burnt Sienna, a Sinopia Red Earth, a Raw Umber, Burnt Umber, and a lime proof Ultramarine Blue.

A:
Any acrylic binder will work with our pigments. We can recommend any Polymer Medium, or the GAC100 that Golden Acrylics makes. For directions, please visit this part of our webpage:

Q:
1. Can these be used to paint on silk, along with a soy milk binder? 2. Do you have smaller/less expensive samples or sample sets? I just want to make sure these colors will work on my medium. Thank you!

A:
1. If the soy milk binder is appropriate for silk painting, then the pigments will work. Surface suitability is dependent on the binder, not the pigment.
2. We do not sell smaller sample kits, as the cost would not be much less for a kit with smaller sizes. We do sell all of our open stock pigments in small sizes for testing.

Q:
Im a painter using Acrylics- such as Nova color. can i use your pigments instead-snd what is the comparison? Are your colors more intense? What is the advantage?
Asked by:
Susan

A:
You can use our pigments instead of your paints and/or with them. By making your own paint, you are making the purest paint possible, with pigments that are not used by the paint manufacturers. Our natural earth pigments are something you will not find in acrylic paint.
